Meet our founder.

In 2023, Kate set out to plan the right trip for one of her daughters. She has taken trips as both a mother and a daughter, but she knew what was missing. During planning she only found itineraries built around tourist sites, making everything feel rushed and generic. These trips were ignoring the specific weight of what a mother and daughter are actually navigating together. So she built what she wished existed.

Is this only for a specific kind of mother-daughter relationship?

No. Elzehaus is built for the relationship at all of its seasons, including the uncomplicated ones. Some clients are navigating significant change. Some are marking a milestone or moving from one chapter to the next. Others are simply close, and want to go somewhere extraordinary together. You don’t need a difficult dynamic or a reason that feels important enough. Just because is a season too.

What is the Elzehaus Method?

The Elzehaus Method is a 4-layers design process we apply to every journey. It begins with hearing your story and understanding where your mother-daughter relationship is right now. Every step of the process filters through the question "what do these two women need right now?"

Most travel is designed around a destination. But our journeys are designed around your relationship.

Is Elzehaus a travel agency?

No. Elzehaus is a relationship travel design studio. We design the experience, intention, and structure of unique journeys for mothers and daughters. We work with a network of trusted travel partners who handle the booking, logisitics, and on-the-ground execution.

Our partners are specialists in their destinations. We are specialists in designing for relationships. Together, that is something you cannot find anywhere else.

What's included and what isn't?

We believe clarity is part of the experience, so every journey is scoped clearly before you commit. Pre-designed and Bespoke Journeys include a design fee.

What makes this different from booking with a luxury travel planner?

A luxury trip is destination-led. Elzehaus is relationship-led. We begin not with where you want to go, but with where you and your daughter are right now: the life stage, the dynamic, what this time together is actually for.

You are not booking a trip. You are entering a design process.

Can we choose our destination, or is that decided for us?

Both, and either. You may arrive with a strong instinct for a place, or none at all. Either is fine. Destination is part of the design conversation. We recommend places that fit your season and intention rather than simply confirming wherever you’ve already imagined. If you prefer a fixed destination with less design involvement, our Pre-Designed Journey Packages offer intentional itineraries with light personalization built in.
